About the app
Cooled Pot ("the app", "we", "us") is a kitchen tracker that answers one question: is this still food? The date on the package stays in charge. The app tracks what the lid never says: the moment you opened a package or the moment a cooked dish cooled down.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, where it is kept and what choices you have. It applies to the Cooled Pot app for iPhone published by Filippo Gallo.
What the app keeps
To count cold windows the app saves only the details you enter yourself:
- Food entries. Product name, food type, whether it was opened or cooked, the start time, the shelf or freezer drawer, freeze and thaw times.
- Kitchen setup. Your fridge temperature, the shelves you use and your custom food types with their hour windows.
- History. Entries you marked as Ate or Tossed, with the time you cleared them.
- App preferences. A simple flag that remembers you have finished the introduction.
We do not ask for, and the app does not collect, your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, health data, device identifiers or payment details.
Where it is stored
All of the information above is stored locally inside the app on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers, because Cooled Pot has no servers for your kitchen data and no cloud account.
Your device may include app data in its own encrypted backups, such as iCloud Backup or a computer backup, according to the settings you chose with Apple. Those backups are handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.
What we never do
- No selling or sharing. We do not sell, rent or share any information with anyone.
- No advertising. The app shows no ads and contains no advertising networks.
- No analytics or tracking. We do not track you across apps or websites and do not build profiles.
- No third-party data SDKs. The app is built with Apple frameworks only.
Internet and permissions
Cooled Pot works fully offline. The only time it connects to the internet is when you open this Privacy Policy from the Cleared screen. The page is loaded like any web page, and the hosting provider may receive standard technical details such as your IP address and browser type to deliver it. No kitchen data is sent with that request.
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or notifications.
Your control
You decide what stays and what goes:
- Delete a single entry from its card on Pot or Freezer.
- Clear your history with Clear history on the Cleared screen.
- Edit or delete food types on the Hours screen.
- Remove everything by deleting Cooled Pot from your iPhone. All app data is erased with it.
Children
Cooled Pot is a general kitchen tool and is not directed at children under 13. Since the app does not collect personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Food safety note
Hour windows in Cooled Pot are kitchen estimates meant to help you plan meals and waste less. They are not medical or food safety advice. The date on the lid and the manufacturer's instructions always lead. When in doubt, throw it out.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom or the CCPA in California give you rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal data and to object to its processing. Because your kitchen data never leaves your device, you can exercise these rights directly in the app at any time. If you have a question or request, write to us and we will reply within 30 days.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new update date. If a change affects how your information is handled, we will explain it here before it takes effect.
